FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
“CHIROPRACTORS ‘CRACK’ & TWIST YOUR NECK, DON’T THEY?
IS THAT WHAT AN ATLAS ORTHOGONAL DOCTOR DOES?”
Absolutely not! Atlas Orthogonal care is nothing like that. The Atlas Orthogonal procedure involves NO spinal manipulations. And it is 100% painless—no “cracking or popping” sounds, nothing scary. I safely treat babies and the elderly. The procedure, done by a special instrument reduces pain dramatically. There’s nothing to be tense or apprehensive about.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY DOCTOR SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG?
This is our classic case. When a patient is not well and all medical tests including MRI, CT, and CAT scans are normal. This is the time to come to us. Many times past trauma and injuries are the culprit. Often these symptoms don't cause problems for years. At Atlas and Spine Center of Greater Washington, we find what other doctors missed by treating holistically.
WHY IS YOUR TREATMENT DIFFERENT?
Atlas Orthogonal is the most gentle, highly sophisticated method to realign the Atlas vertebrae (C1). This vertebrae is the key to biomechanical balance, as well as neurological, vascular and cerebrospinal flow normalization.
I FEEL LIKE I AM NOT MYSELF. WHY?
It is common for many patients with chronic neurological dysfunction due to the Atlas imbalance to feel this way. It can cause emotional as well as physical symptoms. We have seen countless patients feel more like themselves after being treated in our office.
THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR (AFTER THE CAR ACCIDENT), SO WHY SHOULD I GET CHECKED? I FEEL FINE...
Quite often when a person is involved in a car accident they judge the effects to their health on what happens to the vehicle. This is not an accurate method of assessing physical injury to the human body.
In research it has been proven that even a three to five mile per hour crash can result in serious injury to the patient. If a patient is predisposed due to previous injury or ligament instability the injuries can be devastating.
Motor Vehicles are built to withstand the forces of an impact, but those forces are still transmitted to the patient. On the other hand, if the car is totaled it is very rare for the patient to be free of injury.
PEOPLE TELL ME I DON'T LOOK SICK. HOW WILL YOU KNOW HOW TO HELP ME?
What does “sick” look like? You are still walking talking and or working, aren’t you? You aren’t’ bleeding. There is no fracture. The MRI is normal. This is sometimes the most painful statement made by friends loved ones and coworkers.
The two things we look for are complexion and eyes.
A person’s skin should have a healthy glow as a sign the blood and oxygen are circulating into the skin. A person’s eyes should have a spark, a sign of life. We have learned if a person’s eyes look flat or vacant, they are not well. Also, look at old pictures of yourself. Do you see a change in how you hold your head? Look at your overall appearance your skin your eyes. What you see might surprise you.
